Hi All, I’m finding that when I select an item from history, when the history view is removed and the selected item dropped into the normal terminal area, then anything that was previously visible on the terminal from previous commands is cleared, such that it looks like this is the first command to be run in this terminal session.
Is this expected/intended behaviour? I ask because I have a feeling it wasn’t always like this.
I’m using Atuin v18.4.0, though this has been happening prior to upgrade. (I see this happening when running in both ITerm2 and Terminal)
Thanks in advance,
Mike
What’s your value of inline_height
?
If you haven’t configured it, we changed the default. inline_height = 0
will be full screen, but won’t clear your terminal at all once you’re out of a search UI. It uses the alt-screen, like terminal text editors/etc
If you give it a value (say, inline_height = 40
), then it won’t be full screen but will have to clear a small portion of your terminal. It should still be visible if you scroll
Ah thank you!
inline_height = 0
style="auto"
… is what suits me.
thanks a lot Ellie!
